]]> Der Kleingartenverein Rosental wurde 1910 von Julius Straußghitel als erster Wiener Kleingartenverein unter dem Namen „Schrebergärten in Wien und Umgebung“ gegründet. Heute zählt er zu den größten in Österreich, erstreckt sich auf einer Gesamtfläche von rund 38 ha und besteht aus 12 Gruppen mit insgesamt 895 Parzellen. Die Gruppen befinden sich in den Bezirken Penzing und Ottakring und liegen rund um das Otto-Wagner-Spital und die Steinhofgründe. Durch den Nahbereich zum Wienerwald wird die Umgebung von vielen Menschen für Spaziergänge, Ausflüge und Sport genützt. Am 27. Juni 1982 wurde unser Kleingartenverein Rosental mit der „Goldenen Rose“ ausgezeichnet. Das ist die höchstmögliche internationale Auszeichnung, die ein Kleingartenverein bekommen kann. Der Verein, dessen Tätigkeit nicht auf Gewinn gerichtet ist, strebt generell die Förderung des Kleingartenwesens an – und in diesem Rahmen die Wahrung der gemeinsamen Interessen jener, deren Kleingärten sich in den Anlagen des Vereins befinden.
